Hello dear students,

These are the remaining topics from which you are to give a class presentation.

This time the work would be done in pairs (not more)!
You are free to choose your peer and notify me by e-mail on Friday 17th before midnight. In that way I willl be able to assign the corresponding topics.
As presenters, you are request to send me your presentation in advance,  and an additional excercise for the class, worksheet or task.
The rest of the students are to read in prior presentations in order to make valuable contributions and express their opinion about the topic.

Aims and Objectives of the Class

Aim(s):




• This class aims to provide students with the necessary information to create awareness and expand knowledge on language and education

• The goal of the course also benefits the students to become more professionally aware of his or her growth as applied linguists



Objectives:



• By the end of the course students will be able:



- knowledge:

1. to know what educational linguistics is

2. to locate theories and professionals that affect and influence the language and education in different contexts

3. to find, describe, compare and use pedagogical theories and principles



- skills:

1. to examine and explain their own language use

2. to analyze a variety of reading material in order to write an annotated bibliography.

Assigment

You are ask to write a summary of  "Linguistics and language learning" . Due date: Sep 6th before midnigth.
• Assignments must have a complete cover sheet that includes the name, assignment number and title, and the date.


• Assignments must be typed and double-spaced.

• Assignments longer than one page must be stapled together.

• The pages of all assignments longer than one page must be numbered.

• All documents must have margins on all four sides

• All papers must use APA documentation to credit all sources, including internet material.

• All final drafts must have a title.
• Late work will be penalized. The penalty will consist 0.1 point per day late.
• Plagiarism is penalized which will consist 0.5 points up to a failing grade.
